Phurbu T. Namgyal

Phurbu T. Namgyal was born and raised in India. Many of us know Phurbu T Namgyal from his other name Namgyal Phurbu or just simply Namphu. He attended TCV School in India till 1994. After two years, he moved to America in 1996 and has been living in Minnesota USA since then.He is a self taught musician, who has more than eight top Tibetan Pop Music selling albums, containing a lot of oroginal Tibetan popular songs sung by him. His style of Tibetan Modern Music is loved by Tibetans all over the world. Not just by Tibetans in India, Nepal, Tibet and U.S. but also by a large number of Ladhakhis and Bhutanese in their respective homeland. He has performs music concerts in many States and Countries worldwide too. Some of his Hit Tibetan Music albums were "Love Story", "With You" and "Chak Sum Tsel". His album "With You" was awarded the "Best Tibetan Music Album of the Year - 2005".

In New Year 2008, Tibetan Losar, he performed his latest song album Jelyong, where thousands of people gathered at the YMCA ground in Bylakuppe for musical and dance performances, fashion shows, firework displays, a guest appearance by Miss Tibet 2007 to celebrate the Losar, the Tibetan new year of Earth Mouse 2135. The concert was co-sponsored by Kingfisher and TVS Motors.
